Down from View Land
Back down the chairlift, with the bay in front of us the whole way.

The ferry across the bay
The sightseeing boat goes from the View Land side to Ichinomiya on the far side of the bay. A boat plus the Kasamatsu Park cable car was ¥3,200 for the two of us.

Seagulls follow the boat all the way, hoping someone has bought the snacks.

Kasamatsu Park
On the other side, a walk up the street to the cable car up to Kasamatsu Park.

Kasamatsu is where the matanozoki started, so we had to do it again. From this side the sandbar runs diagonally down and away.

We also got a goshuin, a temple stamp, on the way down.

Motoise Kono Shrine
Down the cable car again, past the old shrine at the foot of the hill.

Back across, and the sandbar
The boat back, with more seagulls.

Then we walked out onto the south end of the sandbar, over the little blue bridge.

The sandbar has a beach on the sea side, with snow on the sand.

A caramel ice cream on the way back (¥400).

Chion-ji
Right by the bridge is Chion-ji, a temple to Monju, the bodhisattva of wisdom. Its fortunes come tied to little paper fans, which people hang up on lines by the hall.

The fans, tied up in rows by the hall:

Sea salt crackers for the train (¥518), and a souvenir for the okami at Kamuroan.
Tendon at Hagaten
Back in Kyoto after dark, dinner at Hagaten in Kyoto Porta under the station. Big tendon bowls, ¥3,630 for the two of us.

Back to Kamuroan, and an early night. Tomorrow: Kiyomizu-dera before the crowds.
