Out

We dropped our bags at Hotel The Flag Shinsaibashi and walked down the Shinsaibashi arcade, a covered shopping street that goes on forever.

Dotonbori

Then out at the canal at Dotonbori, with all its giant signs.

First snack: a 10-yen coin, Osaka style. It’s a pancake shaped like the ¥10 coin, filled with stretchy cheese. ¥1,000 for two.

Glico Man

Along the canal.

The Glico Running Man is the photo everyone wants, and there’s a little stage where you can do the pose with him behind you.

And one more, because once is never enough.

The signs keep going: Glico, the crab, and Spider-Man climbing up a building for some reason.

Onward to the onsen!
