The Grand Warehouse shops
On the way out of the warehouse, the shop and a few more sets.

Hill of Youth
Then outside. The park map, and a walk to the Hill of Youth.

Valley of Witches
The Valley of Witches is the newest area, a little European town from Kiki’s Delivery Service and Howl’s Moving Castle.

Lunch
Lunch in the valley: a pie with peas, and fried chicken. ¥4,250.

Howl’s Moving Castle
Then the town itself: Kiki’s bakery, a carousel, and Howl’s Moving Castle standing over it all.

Dondoko Forest
Last, Dondoko Forest, through the trees to Satsuki and Mei’s house from My Neighbour Totoro.

The sun was going down as we left.

Yamamotoya Honten
Our last dinner was miso nikomi udon at Yamamotoya Honten: thick udon boiled in red miso broth in a clay pot, with the lid used as your plate. ¥4,136.

Bye Japan
Next morning, one look at the Nagoya TV Tower and off to Chubu Centrair airport.

The souvenir layout
And at home, the tradition: everything we brought back, laid out on the floor. Rilakkuma goods from Dogo, towels from Imabari, Nintendo, Ghibli, snacks from every prefecture.

Shikoku, the bridges and the castles: we’ll be back for Marugame. Bye Japan, see you soon!
