Beechworth Bakery

We checked out of our old Ballarat hotel early and grabbed breakfast at Beechworth Bakery, in a grand old building on the corner. One more custard tart for the road.

Then a long drive east, about two and a half hours, all the way across to the Yarra Valley, with the sun rising ahead of us.

Hello, Alpacas

Chakana Blue Alpacas is a small family farm in Seville East. The alpacas were waiting for us in the paddocks and the barn, and they know exactly what a blue bucket means: food.

Walking an Alpaca

Then we each got an alpaca on a lead and took them for a walk around the farm, along the laneways, past the paddocks and into the trees. Alpacas walk at their own pace, and stop whenever they see something worth eating, which is often.

Before we left, one last alpaca photo.

Then it was time to drive back into Melbourne, return the car, and spend our last afternoon in the city.
