Kani Doraku
Lunch was the big splurge: a crab course at Kani Doraku, the restaurant with the giant moving crab over the door in Dotonbori. ¥13,420 for the two of us.

It’s crab in every way they could think of. Crab sashimi first.

Then grilled crab, crab chawanmushi, crab gratin.

Crab tempura, crab sushi, and a dessert at the end.

Shopping
Then shopping in Shinsaibashi. Nike (¥14,700) and Vans (¥7,990), so we left with more shoes than we came with.

Umeda
In the evening we went up to Umeda. Grand Calbee in Hankyu does fancy potato chips (¥500), and Kamome drinks (¥497).

There was an aquascape shop with tanks like little forests.

And a Rilakkuma shop, with a giant Rilakkuma out front. Our Rilakkuma met the big one.

Takoyaki by the canal
Back to Namba for the evening, through the narrow lanes of Hozenji Yokocho.

Takoyaki from Creo-ru, the queue moving fast while the chefs flip them in their trays. ¥1,260.

And a Cremia soft serve by the canal for dessert (¥700). It’s the creamiest soft serve there is, in a cone made like a cookie.

Early night. Tomorrow: Universal Studios Japan, at opening!
