The sick day
The morning started normally, with the okami’s breakfast: a whole table of small dishes, tamago and fresh veg, and BB Bagel on my lap working on a rice ball.
Then Bagel fell sick, and Kyoto went out the window. No temples, no plans. We stayed in, and lunch was onigiri on the tatami. He liked them. That was the best sign of the day.
By late afternoon he was well enough for a short outing, so we went somewhere with zero walking and maximum shiny things: the Pokémon Center Kyoto, and Nintendo Kyoto, where Mario pops out of a pipe.
Back to Kamuroan early, for zenzai, red bean soup with mochi, and a new Mario mushroom that Bagel thought was the funniest thing in Kyoto. Kyoto will still be there when he’s older.
Goodbye, Kamuroan
Next morning he was better. One last breakfast, and the okami took Bagel to the window to show him the garden, the same garden we’ve now looked at on four trips. Then the goodbye photo in the lane outside, and off to Nara.
