Two stops down the line

From teamLab Planets it’s two stops on the Yurikamome to Ariake, where a big warehouse holds Small Worlds Tokyo: an indoor theme park where everything is tiny. Tickets were ¥5,400 for the two of us.

The space centre

The first zone is a space centre, with a rocket on its launch tower that actually lifts off every so often.

There are holes in some of the displays where you can stick your head up into the scene. Minmin, giant, in space:

Towns and airports

Then the towns. Every window has a scene behind it, and every corner has a little joke if you look long enough.

There’s a tiny Kansai Airport with planes taxiing and taking off, and a mountain railway with trains going round and round.

The workshop and Evangelion

Through a glass wall you can watch the team building new pieces.

And the Evangelion zone, where Unit-01 sits in its base.

Damage done

We did some damage at the shop. ¥7,600 for a 3D scan, so Small Worlds could make mini figures of the two of us, and ¥1,210 on extras: a little Shinto shrine and a base to stand our mini selves on. Plus churros for ¥500.

Onward to Ginza for apple pie and clocks!
