An early start (a normal one this time)
Breakfast at The Udaya at a civilised hour: French toast, fruit and fresh juice. Then our driver for the day, Ari, took us north to the rice terraces at Tegallalang.

The flying dress
We went to Uma Ceking, one of the swing parks on the terraces. The thing to do here is the flying dress: you rent a long gown with a train that goes on forever, and the staff throw it into the air for the photos. Minmin went for red. We paid Rp 600,000 for the swing package and Rp 150,000 for the dress.

The Bali swing
Then the swing itself, out over the terraces. The dress flies behind you, and the staff time the shots.

There’s a photo spot every ten steps: nest seats, double swings and a heart frame woven from vines.

And the view between the poses, which is the actual reason anyone comes here.

More photo spots.

Into the terraces
Then we walked down into the terraces themselves. The paths wind down between the paddies, and the dress came along for the ride.

Minmin and the dress, on the path and on the bridge.

Back up top for a selfie and a coconut with the Uma Ceking name carved into it. The price list for everything else is at the entrance.

The staff send you the photos too, and this one is the keeper.

Information About Uma Ceking
A swing park on the Tegallalang rice terraces, about 20 minutes north of Ubud. Swings, nest seats and flying dresses for the photos, and paths down into the terraces.
PS: Go early. We were there by 8.30am, with soft morning light and no queue for the swings.
